it is so true, AJ. while it is true that money does give us some comforts, it does not necessarily mean that living in an expensive apartment is better than a simple one. When I lived in Guangzhou, China at an apartment for 3000 dollars a month, I was not for the least bit happy. because its surroundings are so artificial and seem lifeless with lots of smog, I would flee to Thailand many times ( with Air asia, I can fly to thailand for only 30 dollars!).
a cottage where I frequently stay costs only 350 dollar a month including a very good vegetarian meal three times a day, plus abundant nature. when I live there, I can do a lot of reading, writing, feeling so much better than when I was stuck in Guangzhou.

This experience taught me that happiness is not so much how much money I have as where I put myself and with whom I spend time.

It is easy to say if you have income money like in US and you living in one of those countries. If you live there and earn money there it is not so nice.
